Wanderley gained notoriety in brazil in the 1960 s with his own group walter wanderley e seu conjunto and wrote arrangements for joão gilberto and antônio carlos jobim whose tunes he recorded. This is a great verve album now cd from 1966 by brazilian bossa nova organist walter wanderley and his trio. This record is one of the best albums of all time. Brazilian pianist and organist walter wanderley is featured here on this ultra rare album originally released in 1977 with very limited distribution. He moved to são paulo in 1947 where he reportedly learned to play organ with his aunt and also studied harmony at lyceu de artes.

Wanderley had his biggest hit with the summer samba on this record i guess but he went on to record two albums that were even better cheganca and batucada i wish these were not so criminally hard to get on cd.
